Wearable art & pieces of the past are being uploaded into the JEWELRY SECTION of the shop today, like this stunning Congrès Marial de Boulogne-sur-Mer Necklace which is now up:
Congrès Marial de Boulogne-sur-Mer was an historic religious event which took place over a 4 day period in July of 1938. Over 200,000 people made the pilgrimage to Boulogne sur Mer, where 300 hundred years prior, France was consecrated to Our Lady.
At Congrès Marial de Boulogne-sur-Mer, a copy of the King's oath was placed within Golden heart ex votos, including the one used in this necklace; they were then used to adorn the Basilica and were suspended from long strings on fishing nets on the walls throughout the city to commensurate the event.
The French ex voto of this necklace is an original from the 1938 Congrès Marial de Boulogne-sur-Mer. It has been well loved, opens and closes securely, and is in excellent shape.
The original document from the event is still inside.
See this and several other pieces, which are being added throughout the day today, in the Jewelry Section HERE. Not only is it a gorgeous piece of jewelry, it is also a beautiful piece of history.
Enjoy the day!
